My final Game Trailer
Here is my final game trailer, I wanted to created a point and click 2d horror game, I came up with the idea of escaping from a house, and therefore my trailer shows the characters being sucked into the house, so essentially my trailer is the start of a storyline aswell as a trailer.
Rotascoping
Here is my rotascope task, back in year 1 of college, we did a rotascoping task, and this is 'remake' of that same task. The reason I decided to do this was to go back and attempt the same task but see if this time I could do it better.
Overall i'm pleased with my rotascope, it's a bit messy at times but that's to be expected.
Storyboard
I created a storyboard in order to give me a general idea of how my frame by frame animation was going to work and how it was going to look. This image shows the 'animation' part of my storyboard. I did this with annotation in order to help me get an idea on how my character was going to move.
I looked online at previous existing characters in order to get some ideas on how a character similar to mine might move. While I was doing this I had to bare in mind that that however I decided my character was going to move it had to possible in a frame by frame type of way.
My final animation came out fairly well and how I wanted it to, however I personally believe I should have managed my time slightly better, and focused more on the actual production, this way I could have made my animation longer.
However the things I personally believe I did well was create a pretty unique and cool character, and animate him in a way that was simple yet effective.

Adobe After Effects Title Screen
Today, we used Adobe After effects to create a title screen, this was to give us a general idea on how to use the basic tools of After effects, such as making a transitions, creating text, and creating shapes.
From creating my title screen today, I have noticed Adobe after effects can be some what time consuming, but the results are well worth the hard work. In my opinion AE, can be difficult to use, but on the contrary it's easy to pick up.
Mood board
Today, we created a mood board, with different graphics, titles and characters that we might want to include into our game trailer. My mood board was based around the year 1753, specifically Boston. I was very lucky in the fact that my favourite game of all times was based in 1753 Boston and therefore I had so many graphics ready at my disposal which gave me a number of ideas for my game trailer.
The downside to my mood board is that it's motivated a lot by a already existing game which can often make being create and original difficult.
My my mood shows multiple things that I would like to include into my game trailer, such as architecture, characters, character behaviour, and little details such as the style of lam-posts, crates, barrels, and drums.
My mood board also shows a possible font that could be used within my game trailer.
The downside to my mood board is that it's motivated a lot by a already existing game which can often make being create and original difficult.
Frame by Frame animation.
Today we created a pretty short and simple frame by frame animation, in order to get the general idea and technique of using a frame by frame animation within a game trailer. Due to my illustration skills not being great I decided to create a pretty simple drawing of a cartoon monk like character whos' tail swayed in the wind.
From creating this short animation, I can see that frame by frame animation, is pretty simple, and pretty effective, but can be VERY time consuming and is perhaps not the most effective way to create a longer game trailer, but a shorter one, perhaps.
